Find files which contain a string in Linux

Search in current directory:

find . | xargs grep 'the meaning of life' -sl

Search in /home/md:

find /home/md | xargs grep 'the meaning of life' -sl

Case-insensitive search:

find /home/md | xargs grep 'the meaning of life' -sli

Find files which not contain the string:

find /home/md | xargs grep 'the meaning of life' -sL

Grep quick reference:

-s, --no-messages         suppress error messages
-l, --files-with-matches  print file names have matches
-L, --files-without-match print file names have no matches
-i, --ignore-case         ignore case distinctions
